Computer Testing Information
The following information
is provided to the applicants who have registered to take the essay portion of
the February 2012 Kentucky bar exam by laptop computers with the following
important dates, deadlines and information.
- The software company,
Extegrity, will be providing the software, Exam4, for the
February 2012 Kentucky Essay exam. Applicants can obtain a copy of the
software from Extegrity’s website on the following dates
only:
1/20/12 – 1/27/12 – Register and download Exam4 software at
ww.exam4.com.
- PAYMENT OF FEE:
Applicants will be required to
pay a fee of $100 to the software company at the time they register and
download the Exam4 software.
- PRACTICE EXAM:
Applicants are strongly
advised to submit a practice exam prior to exam day.

LAPTOP USE:
It is suggested that work computers ARE
NOT USED, as there can be security issues that inhibit the performance
of the software and have caused applicants problems at the bar exam. We
strongly urge applicants to use either their own personal laptop or a rented
laptop computer.
- USE THE SOFTWARE:
Applicants are encouraged to use
the Exam4 software and become comfortable with it prior to the bar exam. If
any difficulties are experienced or an applicant has questions, they must
e-mail Extegrity’s tech support.
If an applicant has previously downloaded the Exam 4 software, whether in law
school or from a prior bar exam, they CANNOT use the software
previously downloaded for the February 2012 bar exam. Applicants MUST
re-register, re-install and pay the $100 fee the current version of the
software.
- IF AN APPLICANT
CHANGES THEIR E-MAIL ADDRESS they
must notify the Kentucky Office of Bar Admissions immediately, as most
correspondence regarding the use of their computer will be by e-mail.
- IF AN APPLICANT
DECIDES NOT TO TAKE THE EXAM ON THEIR COMPUTER,
the Office of Bar Admissions must be
notified no later than February 1, 2012.
