Who completes the Verification of Law Practice Form?

The Verification of Law Practice Form assists the Character & Fitness Committee in determining an attorney's eligibility to be admitted to the Kentucky Bar without taking the bar examination by showing proof that an attorney has actively practiced law in a state(s) for 5 of the past 7 years.

The following individuals may complete the Verification of Law Practice Form:

    1.  Judges:  If an attorney has practiced before a judge who is familiar with them, then that judge can complete the form.  The
attorney may use more than one form and have more than one judge complete the form to cover five of seven years of law
         practice.

    2.  Supervisors/Fellow Attorneys:  If the attorney's practice time was other than in court, they may have two supervising or fellow
attorneys complete the forms on their behalf.

    3.  Clerk of Court:  In rarer instances, the Clerk of a Court may complete the form, however, a Clerk is usually not familiar with an
         attorney’s law  practice.
